Dual Career Services
At the University of Kansas, we recognize employment decisions are life-changing for both new employees and those close to them. The Dual Career Services program brings a new level of support to assist the spouse/partner of new and recently hired academics with their job search needs. The program does not guarantee job placement but is provided as one resource to assist in your own search efforts.
Program Goals:
- Provide personalized assistance to new faculty spouses and partners in their job search
- Provide networking opportunities and career resources for positions on-campus and within the community
- Enhance KU’s commitment to a community of care that supports the needs of each individual
- Engage employers within the community to support the program and hire candidates of the Dual Career Services program
Who Qualifies for Services
- Dual career services provides a one-time opportunity available to spouse/partner of newly hired KU tenure and tenure-track faculty
- The job search process can be initiated within the first two years of eligible faculty hire date
- Dual career services will work with the spouse/partner until they are employed or for up to one year after their job search begins
Services Provided
- Guidance and networking support for spouse/partner seeking careers in all fields
- Assistance with identifying career opportunities internal to the university as well as area employers
- Information about area job postings and networking resources
How to Get Started
- Complete the intake questionnaire
- Get connected during employee on-campus visit/interview
- Ask your KU dean, chair or the search committee
